Not for the first time, WHA met a client who dreamed of opening the front door of his home to a water view. Such a request came in 1985, this time from a Coral Gables dentist who had property with this potential. WHA developed a plan to raise the house, allowing the owner to walk beneath to a courtyard with a stairway sculptured into it, which became the home’s entry. Additionally, extending the home’s roof out further allowed the residents more time outside, as well as a cost-effective way to keep the rain off of an outdoor party.
