Unincorporated Miami-Dade County (Downtown Dadeland District)
New Car Showroom, Service Facility, and Site Work
This new 35,000 SF Facility replaces an aging 50 year old structure near Downtown Dadeland in Miami, Florida that used to be home of Dadeland Dodge. The new state-of-the-art Chevrolet dealership will consist of a new showroom and service facility designed with new green building techniques. The showroom will be characterized by insulated glass walls fronting US1. The showroom shape was derived from existing codes, requiring the facade to be set at 75′ from the street and span a minimum of 50% of the total street frontage. This combined with the northbound traffic exposure creates unique geometric angles providing for views into the showroom by passing traffic. The showroom slanted roof and open interior structure give the occupants an interior that is spacious and edgy. The managers offices provide views over the total display lot with a loft above for sales offices. The service drive is covered and curved providing ample staging lanes and a direct view into the air conditioned service area.
The service area has dedicated performance bays, geared toward the Chevrolet Corvette owners. Here owners are given viewing area to watch their cars being fixed or modified, and given areas to consult with the technicians. When ready, cars can also be pulled into a built-in dynomometer room. Here vehicles can be tuned for best performance and efficiency – all while the owners observe behind sound insulated glazing.
